Last weekend was held the 6th running of the inaugural Queens Cup in Sunshine, Victoria, Australia. Interstate drivers descended on this growing event to claim the cup. Ben Sterling would take out the first round of qualifying with Cameron Zammit claiming the 2nd. It would come down to the 3rd and final round of qualifying to see who would start up the front of the 45 minute A-Main. Sterling would land a faultless run and claim the overall TQ with his REDS powered Kyosho MP9.
The 45min A-Main would start and Sterling checked out on the field with a handy 14sec lead before striking trouble and running out of fuel. He would re-fire and fall into 2nd position behind Shane Kelly and Cameron Zammit making up time in 3rd after a bad start. Strategy would really come into play here with Sterling having to pit 1 extra stop over Kelly. A few mistakes from Kelly would give the lead back to Sterling. It would stay this way for the remainder of the A-Main with Sterling taking out a 16sec win over Shane Kelly in 2nd and Cameron Zammit in 3rd.
Congratulations also go to TQ and Winner of the Truck class Shane Kelly with his REDS powered TLR.
